Sturgeon County serves more than 20,000 residents and is comprised of over 2,300 square kilometers which includes 10 hamlets, 79 County Residential subdivisions, 6 industrial parks (including the Alberta Industrial Heartland), 543 kilometers of secondary roads and 1,775 kilometers of local roads. Located immediately north of the cities of Edmonton and St. Albert, Sturgeon County is a vibrant municipality made up of farmland, world-class industrial development, and residential acreage developments.  

Sturgeon County provides residents with a high standard of living, a wide range of services, including recreational programming, community events, protective and transportation services and utilities. It is the home of the Alberta Industrial Heartland which is one of the world’s most attractive locations for chemical, petrochemical, oil, and gas investment.  

Sturgeon County (“the County”) is undertaking an initiative to improve broadband internet service for residents and businesses in the County. As part of this initiative, the County is proposing to partner with a Network Provider to build and operate a fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) network.
